TEHRAN – “In my visit with the Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh on Saturday, we made all the arrangements and coordination required for beginning the exploration operation in Koppeh Dagh Oil and Gas Block,” noted a lawmaker.

According to the provisions of the government’s Fourth Five-Year Socioeconomic Development Plan that outlines plans for the more identification and exploration of the oil and gas reserves in the country, the exploration operation in Koppeh Dagh Oil Block should be started, noted Ali Asgari, a representative of the people from Mashhad, the capital city of Khorasan Razavi Province, in the Majlis (parliament).

He also commented, “Given that all the necessary coordination has already been made, we are now waiting for the allocation of the required funds for the project and its approval by the Majlis.”

Koppeh Dagh Oil and Gas Block is located in the northeast of the country near the cities of Kalat and Quchan.
